US Remote Fiber Optic System Technician

We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Site Technology Professional-Fiber systems with experience in outdoor (OSP) fiber optic construction to join our US team. Our company is a global manufacturer and supplier of Fiber and Duct systems for underground, aerial and underwater applications and is seeking to grow our US team. We are seeking a person 3 to 5 years' experience, we offer a competitive base salary and bonuses.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or deployments.
  • Technical leadership in the design and application of Company best practices, ability to evaluate and optimize customer deployment plans.
  • Technical support for all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions, report on any manufacturing issues.
  • Contribute to new business within the US market, assist and identify new opportunities with the sales team on existing and new accounts.
  • Build positive relationships with customers, construction managers, and field staff.
  • Work with sales teams to build strong customer relationships and deliver world-class service.
  • Work closely with the management, product, and field services team to help deliver the world-class service that the Company provides to our customers.
  • Ability to travel almost weekly across the US. Majority of the travel will be in the eastern region.
  • Experience / Knowledge Required: Experience in the telecommunications hardware, networking, and/or fiber optics sectors:

  • Solid experience in underground construction operations, maintenance, or planning:
  • knowledge of deployment methods: directional drilling, trenching, fiber material and duct placement, handling and fabrication, cutting, waterproofing.
  • Experience with cable and fiber unit HDPE Air Blown/Jetting methods
  • Understanding of cable splicing and techniques, ribbon, loose tube etc.
  • Ability to handle and demonstrate duct branching and fiber placement in duct best practices according to the Company quality standards. A positive attitude and strong work ethic, with a proven track record of consistent strong technical recommendation or selling skills.
  • Ability to work with customers in multiple settings.
  • In construction environments, in and out of trenched and construction areas
  • In classroom and demo site environments, trade shows, etc.
  • In the office participating in meetings and presentations, Self-starter, efficient, organized, and able to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven Field Service experience in Fiber construction planning, maintenance, or operations.
  • Ability to understand Fiber deployment construction plans, techniques, and demarcations.
  • Ability to develop and make product recommendations to customers based on experience, observations, customer problems, and Company best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment. Understanding of HDPE and Fiber material handling, jetting, splicing, tools, and procedures.
  • Technical degree or certification
  • Ability to evaluate and certify construction team members, make reports, and provide feedback to construction teams and management.
  • Previous Aerial or Indoor MDU experience is a bonus.
