Location - MUST be on-site in College Station, TX.

What you ll do:

Day-to-day responsibilities will primarily include developing structural designs for new water and wastewater treatments plants or improvements to existing water and wastewater treatment facilities.

This will consist of developing detailed structural designs for a wide variety of projects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure projects. Typical designs will include treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and other supporting structures. The structural group will be responsible for the structural design calculations, coordination with other disciplines, coordination with regional offices and regulating agencies, construction cost estimating, and quality assurance and control.

Occasional travel may be required, as projects may require field work for site assessment of project locations and support during construction. Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large infrastructure projects, candidates must have the ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members. In addition, the candidate shall be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to foster and maintain an efficient and productive design team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam and be registered as an Engineering Intern (EI) or Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
  • Experience using MS Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Basic understanding of structural design practices
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Receptive to a learning environment

Preferred attributes:

  • Master s degree in structural engineering
  • Experience (1-4 years) working in a consulting environment
  • Understanding of the complexities associated with the design of environmental structures
  • Experience using Bluebeam
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs
