Develop structural analysis models for electrophysiology catheter
Utilize computational modeling and simulation to characterize device performance and develop new test methods
Validate computational models with test data
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate analysis results.
Required Experience and Skills
An advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering field
Experience in nonlinear FEA using Abaqus
In-depth knowledge of structural mechanics and material used in design of medical devices (Nitinol, cobalt-chromium alloy, stainless steel, polymer)
Experience with mesh tools and algorithms
Able to collaborate with R&D engineers for material characterization and device level bench-testing
Experience with Solidworks
Preferred Experience and Skills
Knowledge and experience in medical device catheters and braided structures
Experience in design optimization and automation of pre/post processing
Knowledge of statistical analysis, DOE, RSM.
