Security Guard- PRN (2nd and 3rd shift)
Overview
Position Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform the day-to-day activities of our security programs in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Residential Services Manager and/or Security Supervisor. This position is part time Fridays 3rd shift and coverage as needed on 2nd and 3rd for vacations. Great opportunity to make extra money if these days and hours work for you!

Essential Functions/Accountabilities:

Oversees the security and safety of facility, including, but not limited to, monitoring cameras and other equipment; monitoring and logging visitors entering and leaving facility; patrolling all areas of facility as assigned, independently, within required time limit; and observing, correcting and reporting all unsafe conditions and problems.

Monitors residents medical alert systems.

Ongoing

Maintains reports that reflect the facility s security programs.

Ongoing

Assists residents entering and leaving facility.

Ongoing

Participates fully in ERS Emergency and Disaster Plan, including assisting in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.

Assumes the lead role in physically assisting and directing residents during emergencies and evacuations using lift and carry techniques as defined by State Fire Marshal s Office.

Reports all incidents and accidents to manager/supervisor

Ongoing

Valet parks guest cars as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read, write and understand the English language and speak the language in and understandable manner.
Must have a valid driver s license in order to transport residents in ERS vehicles.
Must be able to move throughout the facility including stairwells.
Must be able to bend, push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based at whatever behavior or acuity level they are currently functioning.
Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use corrective devices, that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
Must be able to patrol stairways, buildings and entire campus independently.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations

Working Conditions:
Sits, stand, bends, lifts, pushes, pulls and moves intermittently during working hours.
Works in assigned areas of facility.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Must have a willingness to work beyond normal working hours.
May be exposed to infectious diseases, substances, contaminated articles, etc.
May be required to work and drive in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
