Key responsibilities
This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls and safety/security systems. Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This broad primary role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management.
The position also entails maintaining a strong collaboration with the engineering, production and maintenance departments to coordinate execution of in-house/capital projects between engineers, production, internal mechanics and external contractors.
Must Be Able To Use The Following Methodologies
Data analysis techniques (SPC, Modeling, Fault Tree Analysis, Six Sigma 6σ), Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA), Failure Mode and Effect Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Non-destructive testing
Ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. The position is responsible for adhering to the life cycle asset management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.
Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans.
Leads final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks, effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
Develops mechanical/process solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely affect plant operations caused by equipment failures. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including, but not limited to, asset utilization, equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life, and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, reliability and costs of assets.
Provides technical support to production, maintenance and technical personnel
Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions
Responsible for auditing the design and refinement of the preventive, predictive maintenance program.
Compares PPM tasks to equipment history for work content and frequency. Adjust PPM frequency as necessary.
Regularly analyzes equipment breakdown history to identify repetitive failures and designs/co-ordinates solutions for such issues.
Maintains the maintenance MVP Plant system through writing and assigning work orders and generating purchase orders.
Establishes training documentation and trains team members on the correct use of process control systems.
Qualifications And Skills
Bachelor s of Science degree in an Engineering discipline. Alternatively, a Bachelor s degree in a technical field with 3-5 years experience in the food/pharmaceutical industry serving in a technical support capacity will meet the minimum requirements.
3-5 years in a similar setting is preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills, a high level of motivation and the ability to work independently with a minimum of guidance from management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
