Position Overview

Directs, coordinates and is responsible for the planning, organization control, integration and completion of a construction project within a local company. Also designs changes and specs of the project. Individual may be responsible for more than one project at a time.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and Architectural and Engineering contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent company in project meetings; assist in strategy meetings, etc.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management required.

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as per company policy.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must maintain current driver's license that meets state requirements, i.e., DL/CDL, Class A and/or B Driver with possible hazmat and tanker endorsements. Valid DOT Medical Card a plus, preferred but not required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes and Safety Vest.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.
  • Regular work attendance is a requirement for this position.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to apply innovation and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities vital.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.
  • Business Acumen; Decision Quality; Managing and Measuring Work; Drive for Results.

  • Requires the following motions on occasion: bending, kneeling, and squatting, climbing, reaching, fine motor and repetitive motion.
  • Requires the following motions frequently: standing, walking, sitting
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs. with or without assistance.

Work Environment

  • This position will be based out of a division, branch, or project office.
  • May require exposure to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
  • Will require exposure to dust and dirt.
