JOB SUMMARY:

Provides support to the Senior Project Manager/Project Manager. A Project Engineer is responsible for schedules and forecasts of project development. The Project Engineer coordinates team activities and communicates project status through technical reports.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Preconstruction Activities:

● Assists the Project Manager in distributing and tracking construction plans.

● Processes bid packages.

● Creates and maintains Buyout/Contract Log (weekly).

● Coordinates with Superintendent and other field personnel to process photos, budgets and other documents for monthly construction progress reports.

● Coordinates with Project Managers and Superintendents on establishing an onsite construction office.

● Prepares and processes subcontracts and purchase orders (Timberline Project Management).

● Assists with schedules and Monthly Progress Reports.

Construction Activities:

● Processes change orders and subcontract agreements with Contract Administrator (Timberline Project Management).

● Assists in processing draw schedules.

● Manages cost for office supplies for the field offices.

● Attends and participates in Owner's Meetings.

● Coordinates with accounting on commitment and draw schedule processing.

● Acts as liaison between subcontractors/vendors and accounting.

Post Construction Activities:

● Assists in closing out all accounts.

● Archives construction files.

● Prepares and processes warranty books.

General:

● Processes contracting activities per Western National Contractor's policy and procedures.

● Quantifies and prepares bid analysis for approval.

● Works with Contract Administrator to maintain files.

● Creates and maintains computer files.

● Maintains historical files.

● Researches any invoice discrepancies.

● Processes special projects as needed.

● Performs other duties as assigned. The preceding functions are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and skills required of this position.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

● Minimum of one to five years' construction experience.

● Strong communication and organization skills.

● Computer literate required (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project, Timberline).

● Solid history in working on multiple tasks.

● Ability to prioritize duties accordingly.

● Good math skills.

● General office and accounting skills.

● Must demonstrate initiative, professionalism, integrity, highly motivated, high energy and take direction well.

● Must have the ability to work with others in a professional manner.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATION:

● Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

● High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) required with some college credits.

● Minimum of 3+ year's general construction related experience.

● Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the construction field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Frequent standing, sitting, walking grounds, individual units of community or job−site, stooping, bending, twisting, climbing stairs, driving car, fine hand manipulation (keyingƒmousing), reaching, simple grasping (answering phone) and occasional lifting or carrying objects of up to 20 lbs.
