POSITION SUMMARY

The position will join the Capital Initiatives Group (project management) under the direction of the Program Manager, and play an integral role in Amsted Rail's Grow, Partner, Sustain (G / P / S) strategy. The position will assist in ensuring that schedules, budgets, PO's, and details of any given task assigned are well organized and up to date. They will collaborate with all departments at Amsted Rail Brenco to maintain and execute the division's capital investment strategy while working under the assistance of the CI Project Managers. These investments focus on the short, medium, and long-term capital spending initiatives to support Brenco's industry leading quality standards, environmental, health, and safety initiatives, along with innovation and digitization efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assists in small, large, complex scope capital projects; ranging in scope from miscellaneous metals, robotics and automation, civil/infrastructure, rehabilitation, retrofit, MEP, light structural, etc with a varying value from 10k to 3m.
• Assists in the definition of project objectives, scope development, and front-end engineering (process and controls) in support of the project development and execution;
• Functions as point of contact with contractors and vendors ensuring all department stakeholders and lead engineers are up to date with weekly/monthly objectives;
• Facilitates the collection of project requirements, objectives and expectations, and clearly communicates this information to lead Project Management team members;
• Ensures that work completed adheres to applicable standards (ISO requirements for documentation, Code & OSHA compliance, IBC standards, etc.);
• Assists Project and Program Managers in monitoring and management of project documentation of all capital projects assigned;
• Assists project and Program Managers in monitoring and adjusting project timeline as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project;
• Captures and stores project information on local server and cloud-based sites

Education & Experience:

• Undergraduate degree required (Construction Management and / or Civil Engineering, Design preferred);
• Experience in project coordination with varying degree of complexity within the construction, facilities, or manufacturing sector a plus;
• Experience as project coordinator/field engineer for local/regional/national general contractor with an annual revenue of 50 million or more a plus;
• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environment a plus.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Knowledge of project management role and willingness to learn necessary regulatory requirements, risk management, building regulations, environmental, health, and safety standards;
• Ability to work well with others as well as independently;
• Possesses strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
• Possesses or willingness to learn to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules;
• Strong analytical skills and strict attention to detail;
• Ability to prioritize several tasks at one time and meet tight deadlines;
• Understanding of MS Suite Project Online and Project for the Web a plus;
• Understanding of Bluebeam Revu, a plus;
• Computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD a plus;
• Experience with SAP a plus.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
• Demonstration of strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
