Description

Around the globe, we help cities and industries manage, optimize and make the most of their resources. We provide an array of solutions related to water, energy and materials to promote a cleaner more sustainable world for all of us.

The collective expertise and passion of our people, combined with a broad portfolio of over 10,000 technologies, makes us uniquely positioned to deliver solutions that positively impact the environment. Come be part of something special - start your journey today!

As a member of the Process Department, you are one of the first engineers our clients encounter. Alongside Sales and Applications Engineering, you are responsible for developing winning water treatment solutions for industrial clients under complex technical or regulatory requirements. Working with a team across time zones and continents, you own technical design of the system - from chemistry evaluation, through equipment design/sizing, to determination of process guarantees.

Process Engineers design treatment systems using a variety of SUEZ technologies - from solids-contact clarification, to membrane or media filtration, ion exchange, electrolysis, digestion, evaporation, and ozone/UV disinfection. You balance interests such as system capital vs operating cost, material selection, and capacity margin. You estimate operation in upset conditions, identify potential points of failure and participate in detailed hazard reviews (HAZOPs) with Project teams. You weigh client requests or requirements against the operating nature of our equipment, often proposing alternate designs that minimize cost, scope and risk.

Finally, Process Engineers work as a global team to maintain and improve our design, validation and review processes; develop new technologies and push into new markets; and train upcoming engineers in the art and science of process design. The Process Engineering role is one with a high level of individual responsibility, where you are tasked with making balanced, educated decisions and exercising prudent risk.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or Advanced degrees in an accredited Engineering field - Chemical or Mechanical preferred, or other technical discipline with emphasis in process design and/or controls of wastewater treatment
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant or related design and/or field experience, preferably 10 years or more.

Useful skills or abilities:

  • Experience with industrial water processes and system design/operation - especially in biological (anaerobic and aerobic) and membrane design
  • Ability to consider multiple unit operations and integrate them into a complete process
  • Impeccable organization and time management
  • Clear, concise communication and presentation skills
  • Team player, with the ability to exercise good judgement under changing conditions.
  • French, Spanish language skills may be useful
  • The role requires the ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

We offer competitive compensation and benefits working in a dynamic environment with challenging projects and training provided to ensure your success.

We realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities. We're an organization that champions diversity and inclusion at every level and are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace!
