Purpose:

Provide engineering expertise to support Maintenance and New Model Introduction (NMI) objectives.

Essential Functions:

Assists in the development of new products or processes and systems. Provide consultation, analysis, evaluation and review of problems regarding automation, advanced methods and equipment to Improve technical downtime and safety problems, reduce waste and improve quality performance.
Assist Maintenance/Production team members as a resource for trouble shooting equipment;
Support Maintenance Excellence activities. Facilitate cross function teams/work groups to support continuous improvement programs.
Develop safeguards and improve facility safety equipment function and reliability.
Contributes to research and development projects to meet future demands when necessary. Assist in the commissioning of new plant and equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and with minimum disruption;
Instigate studies and actions to improve the efficiency of the plants building service area; assist with mechanical improvements through TPM, P.M., and Capital Expenditure Projects; Develop new/modify existing work instructions for TPM/PM programs.
Provide electrical engineering skills to evaluate and solve technical manufacturing problems impacting equipment related downtime.
Manage new model launches under the direction of the Product Development Engineer / NMI Project Leader.
Manage capital or working budget projects under the direction of the Engineering Group Leader.
Support implementation of environmental projects to achieve the goals of the ISO14001 system and energy projects to achieve zero carbon emissions.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor s Degree in related field or a combination of education and experience or equivalent experience.
Excellent problem solving, mathematical and mechanical skills
Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in CAD.
Thorough knowledge of Machine Control Systems.
Must be an analytical, detail-oriented, hands on and self motivated individual.
Excellent communication and human relation skills. Also well developed interpersonal skills, verbal and written and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work independently and past experience should demonstrate achievements supporting a results oriented focus and use of leadership skills.
Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.

Qualifications Desired:

3-5 Years experience in a manufacturing facility.
Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC s, Servo Drives, HMI software, and Robotics.
Injection molding knowledge.
Six Sigma Greenbelt.
