The Casting Analysis Inspector will perform the audit of samples and pilot castings to determine conformance to customer specifications. This role will collaborate with Quality Engineering and Foundry Engineering to establish corrective measures.

What You'll Do:
Conduct evaluation of all sample and pilot castings to verify conformance to established quality standards
Examine technically advanced diagrams and instructions for casting cutting prior to metallurgical testing
Apply diagram information to saw operations to ensure accurate cuts are made with saw
Record all information required by containment plans, process cards and sample procedures, and input into information systems or complete appropriate documents; notify supervisor of results
Coordinate sample and pilot inventory (first in/first out) at the saw to ensure efficient processing and material flow
Conduct daily shrink audits per technical requirements
Audit castings of various sizes and design complexities using measuring instruments and tools such as calipers, surface and depth gauges, micrometers, dial indicators, dental mirrors, targeting and qualifying fixtures, and lights to ensure they conform to customer specifications and requirements
Prepare castings and documentation for X-Ray evaluation by 3rd party provider, including shipping and packing documents
Operate a fork truck to route scrap product to charge yard and reclaim product back to the Cleaning Room for disposition
Notify the Quality, Mold, Cleaning, and Core Departments of serious or continuing defects
Train new employees in defect analysis and data retrieval
Utilize delay time constructively by doing housekeeping or other area improvement activities
Personal attendance record should remain in compliance with company guidelines
Perform other duties as directed

What We Need from You:
High school diploma or equivalent with over one-year experience preferred
Approach work assignments in a positive manner and function as a team member
Requires advanced shop math, complicated drawings and formulas, variety of precision measuring instruments
Considerable judgment to plan, layout, and perform difficult work and comply with concentrated mental and visual attention
Moderate physical exertion: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; Physical movement includes repetitive motion with twisting, bending, and standing during shift
Must be willing and able to wear all required PPE
