Title: Maintenance Planner Scheduler

Type: Direct Hire

Location: Alameda County California

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Grow your career in this large, 600MW combined cycle power generating facility in Alameda County CA. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler position provides support within maintenance, operations, and engineering to reduce scheduling/planning tasks performed by management. Work closely with plant management and project managers to understand plant operations and maintenance needs, resources, budgets, and timing requirements. The role is focused on developing and maintaining work schedules. The position offers good pay, monthly living stipend, relocation assistance, full benefits, and a matching savings plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing project requirements and determining appropriate staffing resources
  • Using engineering plans and O&M specs to produce schedules, material requirements list, and budget tracking tools
  • Working with management to organize schedule changes due to backlogs, design changes, and material or labor shortages
  • Generate metrics to demonstrate performance and drive improvements

Job Requirements:

  • Mechanical and maintenance knowledge is needed in an industrial environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Prioritizing own schedule to complete tasks and may guide others in the completion of tasks within clearly defined schedules as set by management
  • Assisting with orienting and training employees with scheduling software
  • With limited guidance, prioritizes and schedules effectively for a single trade
  • Resolving most problems, and referring only the most complex issues to higher levels

Physical Requirements:

  • Works primarily in an office environment in a power generation facility
  • Frequently visit job sites in power plant
  • Must comply with all safety and site rules at all locations

Education / Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, power plant operations or equivalent
  • Must be proficient in the use and function of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Experience with Maximo and MS Project is preferred
