The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Reliability Engineer, the Planner is critical in ensuring that work is executed in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. The contract mechanical planner position will focus primarily on the adequate planning of new work orders and the revision of backlog work orders. The Planner develops comprehensive maintenance job plans that facilitate the safe and effective execution of work. That includes ensuring accurate job times and job plans; as well as ensuring the correct tools, skills, and materials required for the job are identified and available.
Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Ensure the work prioritization process is adhered to.
Review work requests for completeness of information and adequate justification.
Walkdown jobs and coordinate with stakeholders to determine the scope, general strategy, and coordination requirements of the work.
Develop job plans appropriate for the lowest skill level required for the task.
Assign accurate time estimates for all job plans.
Maintain and update technical documents for plant equipment and systems.
Review, update and optimize PM routes and bills of materials (BOMs) in SAP.
Develop generic job task groups for common and repetitive work.
Ensure the maximum use of maintenance manpower, minimize production disruptions, and manage overhead expenses in the creation of job plans.
Review maintenance backlog and up-grade job plans as needed.
Provide technical assistance as required for maintenance personnel in executing the work.
Criticality ranking, priority, due date and age of the WO are used to prioritize work to be planned and scheduled.
What You ll Bring:
A Journeyman's ticket, PMP and/or related technical diploma are highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication, presentation and analytical skills
Self-directed and professional, well-developed English communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
Computer proficiency in email and spreadsheets and able to learn a variety of other software (ex. MS Office, CMMS)
