Description

All field technicians are required to be onsite and travel between Baltimore County locations.


Installs and supports new devices along with accompanying software (These devices
can include computers, tablets, projectors, document cameras as examples)
Coordinates the repair of laptop computers including performing
diagnostic repair procedures
Installs and configures supported device operating systems
Performs routine diagnostics and maintenance with multiple operating systems
Installs and configures applications and other supported software packages
Tests new releases for supported systems
Performs network support and troubleshooting duties
Provides consultation and/or training on the operation of technology equipment and software packages
Troubleshoots hardware and software issues
Assists with resolving device related problems
Integrates knowledge and skills from a range of technologies to address work assignments and problems of moderate complexity
Coordinates with vendors when necessary
Participates as team member on small and/or large projects
Records activities in the work order system
Updates/Creates internal supported system documentation

Associates Degree in a related technology area
Minimum of four (4) years experience installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and
maintaining device software
Knowledge of Windows and Apple hardware and software platforms
Ability to perform technical tasks with minimal supervision
Must have own transportation and valid driver's license (Required license must be maintained throughout employment in this position).
Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb a ladder
Possess certifications such as CompTIA, A+ certification, HP Certification, or other hardware
vendor specific certifications

  • Troubleshoot equipment hardware and software problems
  • Perform software and hardware inventory
  • Providing desk side computer hardware and software support
  • Provide hardware / software technical support
  • Extend computer support for systems' software and hardware
  • Resolve moderately complex end-user hardware/software problems including remote access software
  • Provide end-user support for software and hardware issues
  • Install software or perform hardware testing at the users desk site
  • Maintain, and repair computer related hardware
  • Troubleshooting computer hardware and software as a customer service representative
  • Assist or train on the software/hardware
  • Coordinate repairs on technology hardware
  • Research and resolve technical problems for both hardware and software issues
  • Analyze, identify and resolve business and or technical problems
  • Provide recommendations of program changes to correct software problems
  • Assist in preparation and conducting of physical inventories
  • Maintain specific quality records to ensure standards
  • Resolve PC hardware/software, printers, and network related problems
  • Provide some desk side technical support for hardware and software
  • Manage the deployment and support of field network systems
