Job Location Milwaukee, WI

Job Duration: 6 Months Contract to Permanent

What you will do

  • The IT Customer Service Technician is responsible for installing and supporting all IT hardware and software at the Headquarters office. Tasks include managing the PCLC, supporting conference room A/V, and providing in-person and remote end user support for 600 employees. The IT Customer Service Technician reports directly to the regional IT Service Operations Manager.

How you will do it

  • Independently triage all IT hardware, software, mobile, and network issues and act as liaison between the L1 Help Desk and the end user
  • Work on-site daily to configure and deploy office equipment, such as printers, conference phones, conferencing systems, and mobile phones, while following hardware and software standards
  • Provide general application support for both in-person and remote users
  • Facilitate the full PCLM process with an emphasis on configuration and deployment
  • Maintain security, appearance, and organization of the server rooms
  • Manage SLAs and resolve incidents in Service Now
  • Follow and maintain hardware and software standards
  • Primary contact for service providers, such as Verizon and Avaya
  • Partner across global IT departments to advise on projects
  • Engage with the USCAN Plant Systems Team to execute projects across the region
  • Make recommendations to the USCAN Plant Systems Team when IT hardware and/or software upgrades are required and procure required items through approved vendors
  • Ensure new IT hardware serial numbers are recorded and included under existing maintenance contracts
  • Proven ability to efficiently explain technical problems in an easily understandable way to non-technical audiences
  • Attend weekly staff meetings with the Plant Systems Team and other meetings as requested
  • Occasionally lift parcels up to 40 pounds
  • Travel requirement

Required Skills

  • 5 years of experience in combination of formal IT education and professional IT Technical support experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the management of Microsoft and Apple OS and apps
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced understanding of PCs including software installation and reimaging
  • Demonstrated track record of strong initiative and producing results
  • Preferred Skills
  • Experience with inventory, asset management, and CMDB is a plus
  • Other desirable certifications include Network+, Security+, MCSE, CCNA, A+
