The IS Technical Support Specialist I is responsible for meeting the Information System needs of internal and external hospital customers by providing a variety of IS services. This service will be provided by answering questions or resolving computer problems for users in person, via telephone or e-mail. Also, provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, MS Office software, e-mail and operating systems. This person performs in accordance with hospital standards and policies and operates with minimal supervision.
Associates Degree required. Associate degree in computer support related field.
Minimum 6 months IS experience required.
Computer hardware and software support experience, preferred.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills in handling technical support questions. Can install and de-install Workstations and resolve hardware/software issues.
Learns and applies analytical participative problem solving techniques. Demonstrated experience with application software.
