We will be adding Roadway Design Engineers at all levels, designers, and traffic engineers. We currently have a team of engineers in Fort Worth Texas and will be opening a new office in Westlake. We offer relocation assistance to candidates interested in living and working in that area. This Texas District office will support a variety of projects in Texas and throughout the US including design-build, public-private partnerships (P3), construction manager/general contractor (CM/GC), and design-bid-build. 2021 and 2020 were record years for us in terms of growth and revenue and our backlog demands adding new staff!

District Overview

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Location

This role will be based out of our Kiewit Westlake Texas (near Fort Worth) Office. We offer relocation assistance to individuals that are 50+ miles away and want to live/work in the Fort Worth area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs, production plans for highway/road/interchange existing projects and proposals (get-work tasks).
  • Perform Design Modeling tasks utilizing InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, Civil3D and/or other similar design software.
  • Create preliminary design concepts and alternatives for highways and civil features to support cost estimating.
  • Attend project technical meetings, contribute innovative ideas to develop the best designs and problem solve proactively to resolve design issues
  • Execute final design of project elements such as roadway geometrics, cross-sections, roadway alignments, specifications, roadway design production plans and profiles, quantity take-offs, cost estimating, signing and marking plans, maintenance of traffic plans, wall plan and profile sheets

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of civil / highway design experience performing tasks as outlined above
  • EIT required; PE required for individuals with 5 or more years experience or in process of obtaining.
  • Experience designing civil/roadway/highway infrastructure or similar projects; Broad background in civil engineering (roadway design/utilities/traffic/drainage) is highly desired
  • Familiarity with design-build or alternative design delivery is preferred. Interest in continuing to work on D/B is required.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation; Experience with InRoads, or OpenRoads Designer (ORD) is an asset.
  • Experience developing construction plans for transportation projects is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
