JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Gas Measurement Specialist you will assist in the solution of problems pertaining to gas measurement and regulation as required, which may include, installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and testing related equipment, along with computing volume and pressure data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, operate, maintain, repair, and test diaphragm, rotary and turbine type positive displacement meters, orifice meter gauges and tubes, recording thermometers, pressure gauges, gravitometers and calorimeters, continuous samplers, chromatographs, and flow controlling and pressure regulating equipment in accordance with established corporate policies and/or governmental regulations.
• Operate and verify proper calibration of chromatographs.
• Install gauge lines and piping to instruments, meters, and other gas measurement equipment as required.
• May change charts and compute volume and pressure data as required.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports as required.
• Make minor repairs to equipment used in the performance of assigned duties, keeping the equipment in safe and proper working condition.
• Perform all duties associated with odorization stations and associated equipment.
• Promote good customer and public relations.
• May direct other employees in the performance of assigned duties.
• May perform other duties as required in higher or lower classifications.

Successful candidates are required to live within commuting distance of 30 Miles - OR - if you do not live within 30 miles must be willing to self-relocate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):

NOTE: Consideration for promotion into the Gas Measurement Specialist, Sr., position requires an employee to be permanently classified as a Gas Measurement Specialist for a period of four (4) years with satisfactory performance demonstrated.

High school diploma or GED with minimum of one (1) year combined related gas industry experience, relevant military experience or other related experience. (i.e. oil, steam, HVAC, plumbing, propane, gas boiler/furnace)

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to operate various electronic and pneumatic devices such as flow controlling and pressure regulating equipment, orifice gauges and tubes, recording thermometers, pressure gauges, chromatographs, and testers, transducers, provers, chromatograph, computers, etc.)
• Ability to install gauge lines and piping. Ability to understand and comply with all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment.
• Instrumentation and control experience a plus.

Testing:

Must pass Aptitude Testing, Gas Measurement Orientation Testing and Gas Measurement Final Test after six (6) months of Gas Measurement Training.
