Bird Heavy Civil is recruiting a Field Engineer to join our team. If you are an experienced and qualified Field Engineer, seize this opportunity to work on projects that matter to you and to the communities in which we work.

Qualifications:
• A degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Experience working earthworks, concrete, mining operations as well as a understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with using AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented and have a strong work ethic.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
• Must have a valid driver s license.
• Will be required to travel to various project locations.
• Must be able to work on a rotational basis.

Duties:
• Work with superintendents to plan and co-ordinate work activities.
• Calculate material take-offs, review specifications, and material needs as required.
• Utilize AutoCAD for quantity and work dimensions calculations.
• Utilize scheduling software, such as Primavera to review project schedule and assist in the updating of ongoing activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to determine layouts of structures and material requirements.
• Prepare reports to document project activities and production reporting.
• Work with the team to determine project details, aid with resource allocation, planning of the work, acceptance testing and evaluation of field conditions.
• Co-ordinate, schedule and inspect delivery of all materials required for project construction to satisfy schedule and quality requirements.
• Coordinate, track and assist in change management control and update drawings as changes are made and issued. As-built preparation.
• Coordinate inspections with appropriate personnel as required by the client.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
• Enforce and promote the Company s Quality Assurance program and ensure the project is meeting quality specifications and goals.
• Coordinate with Owner/Owner s representative to ensure all information required is received and transferred to field operation (RFI s).
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure conformance to contract requirements.
• Assist QA/QC department in the preparation of project work and technical procedures and disposition of NCR s.
• Other duties as required.
