JOB DESCRIPTION

BHE GT&S has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer II/Sr Engineer/Sr Engineer II within our Gas Storage: Geologic Services - Well Integrity team located at our White Oaks General Office in Bridgeport, WV.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is capable of independently performing difficult and complex work requiring thorough knowledge of the subject matter and significant experience within the designated company area or specific engineering discipline. Responsible for providing expert technical or engineering support, direction, and advice for the development of projects, programs, and engineering products. Independently performs technical or engineering evaluations, calculations, analysis, and design to support the requirements of the designated company area or specific engineering discipline. Incumbents are expected to provide technical expertise and leadership to solve complex technical problems and to manage multifaceted projects. Applies technical expertise to major projects. Works independently and applies extensive and diversified knowledge and experience to resolving complex problems. Requires significant experience as a technical lead as well as specialized certifications, education, knowledge, or experience required by the work. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Main Job Responsibility: Project Manager of EGTS's Gas Storage Well Logging Integrity Program.

  • Track reports, prepare/manage budgets, cost reporting, invoice processing, scheduling, involvement in decision making and working with Field Operations and Partners (20%).
  • Maintain Gas Storage Databases and Oracle Web Center Content (WCC) concerning Surveillance Logging and Well Work Activities (15%).
  • Coordinate Surveillance Logging Activities with Contractors and Field Operations, interpret electrical Well Logging Data/Results and work closely with other Groups within the Gas Storage Department (35%).
  • Determine Well Logging Schedules based on specific parameters (i.e., Well Risk Ranking Values, historical logging results, Operations Input, Federal and State Regulations, etc.). (20%)
  • Continue to research new technology and process improvements (i.e., utilize an INTeX Bond Tool, HR Vertilog Technology, Best Practice Environmental Controls, etc.) (5%).
  • Maintain the Gas Storage Guidelines Document and participate in PHMSA Gas Storage Audits (5%).

QUALIFICATIONS

Engineer II

3-4 Years of Professional Engineering Experience

Sr Engineer

5+ Years of Professional Engineering Experience

Sr Engineer II

8+ Years of Professional Engineering Experience

Highly skilled in both Open and Cased Hole logging operations and interpretation. Experience in utilizing Microsoft Software (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Access and Oracle Web Center. A strong background in the field of natural gas development, well intervention, well completion, and underground gas storage operations.

Preferred: Strong background in Underground Natural Gas Storage and applicable State and Federal Regulations. Strong working knowledge of Geological principles/processes.

Education Requirements

Education Level: Required: Bachelor of Science, Disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical or Petroleum Engineering.

For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met:

Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or

Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or

Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.

Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering degree is strongly preferred.
