What You Will Be Doing

The chosen Earthwork Estimator will be based in our Centennial office and will manage all aspects of developing cost estimates for large heavy civil projects involving earthwork and underground utilities. Projects may include (but are not limited to): municipal sewer systems, storm drainage, hydropower generation facilities, airports, roads and other infrastructure.

• Understand and manage risk as part of the proposal preparation process
• Visit project work sites, participate in pre-proposal meetings, clarify scope of work, and prepare RFIs
• Provide high level scoping of the project to create the estimate summary and outsourcing worksheets
• Utilize project plans and specs to identify scopes of work, assign crews, schedules, materials, subcontractors
• Lead outreach to subcontractor and supply community
• Develop self-performed estimates for the trades that we choose to self-perform
• Develop and/or manage the development of a preliminary bid schedule
• Other tasks as assigned

What You Need for this Position

8+ years of relevant earthwork estimating experience and:

• Bachelors Degree (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related)
• Civil PE license is a PLUS
• Proficiency with HCSS, Agtek, and Primavera P6
• Successful track record bidding large earthwork and water/sewer/storm projects
• Experience in all aspects of heavy civil work scopes PREFERRED
• Sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task
• Prior experience with project delivery including: design-build, CM at risk, IDIQ
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Prior experience with technical writing in proposals PREFERRED
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
