Description:

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for the position of Director of Special Chemistry at Lurie Children's Hospital. This full-time, continuing position carries a primary faculty appointment at the Feinberg School of Medicine, Northwestern University, at a rank commensurate with experience and academic activity. This position is responsible for overseeing the mass spectrometry and biochemical genetics areas of the clinical laboratory. The candidate should be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Pathology in Clinical Pathology or by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry or equivalent. Preference will be given to candidates who are trained in signing out biochemical genetic tests (e.g., amino acids and organic acids) and have demonstrated experience with clinical mass spectrometry method development. Lurie Children's Hospital is an independent, free-standing hospital that provides tertiary care pediatric services, with active programs in all pediatric specialties.
