Your responsibilities

SUMMARY: Serves as the relationship manager to the customer product development organization to ensure that client expectations are met and exceeded. Physically located on-site at the clients engineering center to provide eyes, ears, and hands-on support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leads and maintains customer open issues logbook. Examples include but not limited to: technical issues or product design issues between customer and CBU, customer CAD drawings and models, DVP&R, FMEA, and control plan topics.
Leads and maintains customer prototype tracking log which includes due dates, part pedigree, build purpose, advanced build planning, and priorities. Responsible to enter commitments into customer prototype ordering system.
Identifies the required personnel to support customer launch and development / build events.
Key participant and coordinates all product development activities with customer engineering. Aligns the customer to thyssenkrupp steering standards wherever possible.
Leads customer AQP process and maintains tracking tools. Drives open AQP issues to closure.
Leads and maintains customer technical/ material cost reduction tracking and communications. Will request support from CBU in extraordinary circumstances to support local customer cost reduction activities/ events.
Acquires and maintains detailed knowledge of thyssenkrupp steering products and services. Attends and provides voice of the customer input for annual/ semi annual technical review and technology radar.
Leads sales product knowledge in the features and benefits of our steering products by utilizing available support from product development.
Stays abreast of what competitors and potential customers are doing as well as market trends. Cascades this information to the appropriate CBU personnel.
Completes and approves all engineering quote AVO request forms.
Maintains engineering quote AVO tracking log and follows-up with team until closure
Eliminates roadblocks within customer releasing systems in order to maintain program timing. Understands and drives customer process and has a deep knowledge of customer systems.
Leads communication and expert in customer global engineering processes. Cascades new/ changed requirements to CBU (examples: new customer CAD standards, GPDS changes)
Coordinates customer sign-off of documents such as DVP&R, test reports, deviation requests.
Publishes frequent KISS reports on customer activities
Informed and knowledgeable on customer warranty. Escalates any potential issues/ trends.
Participates in internal project reviews and pre-review meetings as the voice of the customer. Ensures that internal timing milestones are aligned with customer milestones.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The customer program manager leads and directs the team members assigned to their customer project(s). That also includes giving inputs on the team members performances and behavior for their annual performance review. The performance review itself, however, will be conducted by the direct supervisor of the team members.
