Concrete Finisher

Prefabricated building system manufacturer that specializes in electrical substation control buildings and communication shelters is seeking an experienced Concrete Finisher that can immediately contribute to increasing Production and Efficiency while maintaining quality within our Plant.

Minimum Age: 18 Years Old

General Job Description:
● Grade and Smooth Concrete using Various Tools
● Monitor the Effects of Wind, Heat, and Cold on the Curing of Concrete
● Work with Concrete and Aggregate Materials
● Obtain Specified Finish According to Building Plans
● Follow Guidelines to Maintain a Safe Working Environment
● Perform additional Tasks as instructed by Supervisor including Clean-Up and Housekeeping Tasks
● High School Diploma
● Valid Driver's License
● Ability to Pass a Drug Screen and Background Check
● Minimum 2 Years' Experience working with Concrete
◦ Must be familiar with various concrete tools
● Working knowledge of basic construction math, familiarity of hand and power tools, general knowledge of blueprints
◦ Knowing how to grade, and run a vibrator (Plus)
◦ Knowledge of Various Concrete Tools
● Ability to perform job specific physical requirements under the specified working conditions - This is considered a Labor Intense Jobs
◦ Able to work on knees, bend for extended period, and lift over 50lbs
● Willing to Perform any assigned Task
◦ Clean Up Concrete after each Product is Cast
◦ Must Help other areas when concrete is not being poured
● Self-Sufficient and Self-Motivated
● Reliable and Timely Transportation
◦ Strict Start of Day at 7:00 AM
● Willingness to Work Overtime as Needed, Including Weekends
● Ability to Stay until Concrete is finished Properly - End of Day (Jobs May Require Staying Past 3:30 PM)

Job Requirements:

  • Place the concrete either directly from the concrete wagon chute, concrete pump, concrete skip or wheelbarrow
  • Ensure concrete forms are set into position for pouring concrete
  • Position concrete truck for pouring of concrete, and moves chute to direct concrete on forms
  • Smooth out concrete in segments
  • Finish concrete surfaces, and wet and rub concrete with abrasive stone
  • Remove rough defects from concrete using concrete grinder or chisel and hammer
  • Using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge
  • Using square, measuring tape, or rule to lay out work
  • Finish concrete surfaces, using power trowel, or wet and rub concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish
  • Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the concrete
  • Monitor how the wind, heat, or cold affect the curing of the concrete throughout the entire process
  • Position truck to facilitate pouring concrete
  • Produce rough concrete surface using broom
  • Produce rough concrete surface with broom
  • Position vehicle to facilitate pouring concrete
  • Shape surfaces of freshly poured concrete
  • Produce rough concrete surface, using broom and operate power vibrator to compact concrete
  • Finish concrete surfaces, or wet and rub concrete with abrasive stone to impart finish
  • Inspect the forms that hold the concrete
  • Break up and repairs old concrete surfaces
