Job Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Program Manager
Develop technology road map for manufacturing location to maximize machine utilization and productivity while minimizing cost.
Work with all mfg sites impacted by project implementation regarding increasing or decreasing volume to minimize duplication of expensive overhead across plans and leverage the core competencies of all plant while maximizing volume into those plants
Provide technical input on capital expense needs for tooling tied to manufacturing startup of project future state and processes.
Assist in Make vs buy decision on product introduction, i2v, and footprint plans with the goal of fixed overhead rationalization and leverage of core competencies.
Oversees all areas of manufacturing project development and implementation with particular emphasis on advanced manufacturing technology. Mid to long range (one to five year) project development of process and methods improvements are accomplished through the investigation and implementation of advanced manufacturing concepts. All efforts are focused on the successful implementation of projects, which will reduce labor and material costs while optimizing quality and cycle times.
AME will be on site at a manufacturing plant that will be her/his primary focus. There she/he will develop relationships the plant manager, material manager, mfg engineering team, finance team and maintenance team to ensure the knowledge of the operations, machinery and process in the plant. This will better prepare the AME for how new project will be implemented at that site. The AME will also support one off needs at other plants that may not have a full time AME. This could be in person, email, calls or virtual conference
The position will be responsible for the technical development, integration and execution of i2v, NPD, and Footprint projects into the manufacturing locations. The AME will work closely with the project lead, mfg plant managers, engineering managers and project teams to execute on cost savings and project implementation. For AME success looks like best technology implemented leveraging existing process where possible and implementing new technology for cost reduction opportunities.
Bachelors in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred;
10 or more years of ME experience in a similar capital intensive, highly engineered product business.
Excellent communication, project management and analytical skills are critical.
Experience and formal education in the development and application of the current state of affairs.
